Be a Finisher

Finish Line - Boston Marathon 2006

Everyone can be a finisher.

I run and I coach runners and some who know me might think that I’ll be writing about running. This website is about bringing things to completion.

The finisher is the guy who looks around, sees the pieces that need to be put together, and works to get them put together and finishes the project. It’s not about being the go-to-guy but about bringing expertise to bear on things that will advance the Kingdom. Hopefully, it will be a resource for others who work behind the scenes of their churches or non-profit.

Much thanks goes to Mark Meyer who first put into words what I was thinking. I read his post and recognized myself. Sometimes I really don’t like being the finisher but most days it brings me immense satisfaction.

Looking back at his original post, I realize it’s been over two years since I read it and purchased the domain name. Hopefully, you won’t need to wait two years to read the second post.

    Greg-

I pray you will continue to press into the people, the projects, and community right where you are to make a real difference. We all struggle with procrastinating the things we know we “ought” to do… You have a real purpose and can’t wait to see how your next steps will play out. Have a great week (and thanks for the kind words…)! Mark

You silly willy! I had no idea this was your site, but I thought the title was perfect for me, frequently a non-finisher.
